Brose Bamberg moves into the playoffs after victory over Antwerp

Brose Bamberg secured his place in the round of 16 by beating Telenet Giants Antwerp 82:78 on the 12th matchday of the Basketball Champions League. A 40-minute effort was necessary. In the meantime, Brose was 14 points behind (17:31, 12.), but thanks to a good third quarter (23:16) fought his way back into the game and finally won. Topscorer was Tyrese Rice with 24 points. Cliff Alexander had a double-double with twelve points and eleven rebounds.

Federico Perego: “It was the expected fight. Congratulations also to Antwerp, they demanded everything from us. They are very athletic and very talented. We had to go through a lot of difficulties. Of course, eleven turnovers in one half are far too many. In the second half we played much better, we improved. That's what I want to see from my team. I want us to improve day by day. And if we can do that in one game, so much the better. Defensively, it still wasn't intoxicating, but we only allowed 36 points in the second half. That was ok. If you also have players like Rice and Zisis, you can just solve a lot of problems. We're happy to be in the round of sixteen, but we still have a lot of work to do."
