Brose Bamberg loses against Istanbul

Brose Bamberg lost against the reigning champion Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul with 57:80 after three EuroLeague victories in a row. The result sounds clearer than the game was. Until the beginning of the last quarter the German champion was on the line (48:55, 32.), but afterwards a few mistakes in offense and defense caused a 13:0-run of the guests and thus the preliminary decision. Best Brose scorer was Augustine Rubit with twelve points, Dorell Wright collected eight rebounds.

Andrea Trinchieri: „For three quarters we were excellent, we were able to cut the deficit to 7 points, and then, whenever you make a mistake they punish you. It is unbelievable. I was trying to explain to my team that these teams expose you, you have to be super focused, and every possession should be played like the last possession of a tied game. When we cut the deficit to 7, we put together four mistakes, two on offense and two on defense, which basically killed the game. But I believe we were able to make a great effort. We should not use this game to evaluate our team because Fenerbahce is EuroLeague champion and they played a great game, very smart, very physical. They were definitely better and they deserved to win.“
